🚀 PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT: JavaLens VR – A Native Standalone Client for Autcraft!
Hi everyone!
I am incredibly excited to share a brand-new project currently in development at my indie studio, EWGames.
It is called JavaLens VR, and it is a custom, built-from-scratch standalone OpenXR application designed specifically for the Meta Quest 3S to let you connect directly to Java Minecraft multiplayer servers—with Autcraft as our main target destination!
💡 The Core Innovation: Fast, Safe, and Secure
Instead of trying to run a heavy, unoptimized simulation engine that drains your headset battery and causes lag, JavaLens VR works as an ultra-lightweight, high-performance network client.
  • 100% Legal & Approved: The initial download size is tiny because it contains zero copyrighted textures or files. When you boot the app, it securely talks to official Mojang servers to download your assets directly to your headset storage.
  • Secure Authentication: The client uses a secure, official 4-step Microsoft OAuth sequence to verify your account credentials, generating an authentic Session ID to pass whitelisting requirements smoothly.
  • Silky Smooth 90+ FPS: By coding an optimized real-time face-culling voxel mesh generator, the engine strips hidden internal blocks completely out of memory. This keeps vertex counts low, giving you a comfortable, lag-free experience inside the lenses.
🖥️ How It Works: The Steam Link Style Launch
When you open JavaLens VR in your headset, it doesn't drop you into an isolating empty space right away.
It starts as a native flat 2D floating glass panel (Slate Window) pinned right inside your physical room or native Quest Home. You can see your surroundings while you check asset downloads, view server lists, and log in.
Once you click the "Connect to Autcraft" button, the client instantly transitions, waking up the OpenXR spatial engine to seamlessly build the 3D voxel world right around you!
📋 The 12-Month Roadmap
We have initialized a completely clean repository and are developing this systematically over the next year:
  • Months 1–2: Flat 2D Launcher Panel optimization & Quest pointer mapping.
  • Months 3–5: Secure Microsoft OAuth token handshake integration.
  • Months 6–9: TCP/UDP Socket streaming & real-time face-culling voxel generation.
  • Months 10–12: OpenXR runtime transitions, link debugging, and final optimization for compilation.

Once the build is finalized, the polished installer package will be uploaded to GitHub Releases for instant access and pushed directly live onto the official Meta App Lab store under a verified developer profile.
Since I have YouTube rank, I will be posting video updates showing the progress of our scripts and development over there as we build this out!
Stay tuned for more updates as development progresses. I would love to hear your thoughts, questions, or what features you're most excited to see!
