Every time I've gone AFK it's because I need to do a quick google about, say, why my boots won't enchant with Swift Sneak (because Swift Sneak is a legging enchant.) or why my trident won't take Riptide (because tridents can't have both Loyalty and Riptide and mine already has Loyalty.) It's usually just a couple of seconds but I use /afk to tell people that their private messages should wait until I'm back or I will miss them.

Im pretty much completely fine with most of this stuff. However, one thing that really bugs me is when people say "welcome back" after it says "you are no longer afk", and now that youve put a clear definition of how we use the term AFK on autcraft, people have an excuse to do so, and i wont be able to say "ive been here"

It is super annoying when people do that

BTW I just asked chatGPT and yea it says that its better for the server to just stand in one place even if its a mob farm that like flying, building, mining, teleporting and doing other stuff that is using a lot of server efficiency to load new chunks all the time and all of the information about new blocks all the time rather than just you loaded one chunk where is you farm and you stand here ;)

Let's just clarify that. I agree with that 100%. When I was lagging so hard for like 2 weeks it was all right at my farms but when I teleported it was a nightmare.

ChatGPT answer:

"For a Minecraft server, it’s almost always lighter on resources when a player is AFK in one place (for example at a mob farm) compared to actively flying around and loading new chunks."

Ask ChatGPT: "Is it lighter on Minecraft resources to be afk in one spot at a mob farm or to not be on the server at all?"

It's lighter if the player is not on the server of course. So yea everybody can just stop logging in and the server will be super light and fast with 0 players LOL

Mobs rely on chunk loading to spawn and the game constantly checks wether or not to spawn them around players. In multiplayer terms, the server consume resources to process the game's spawn mechanics around every player at the same time. It's more than just flying around and finding new chunks.

When you're talking many players on the server at once; Whatever they're doing, it all adds up. That's why we don't allow afk-farming. You're simply taking up server resources even if you're doing nothing at all.

At the end of the day, it's better to log off when you're not expecting to play on AutCraft for any length of time.

I'm pretty sure it's a good idea to update the rules about AFK...
