Regardless of what the current US administration would like you to believe, autism is NOT caused by Tylenol, which first came on the market in 1955, while autism was first described in 1911.

Claim: Amish people do not get vaccinated and don't have autism.
Neither of these are true. When examined, they found that there are less autism diagnoses but that's largely because they simply aren't being diagnosed, they don't recognize the signs, they don't bring them in for an assessment.
Claim: There is no autism in Cuba
False. There very much is but there's a lot of factors that makes it tough to study or get any real numbers.

Claim: The MMR vaccine is linked to autism
Please, we settled this 15 years ago when the doctor who made the claim was found to have his own vaccine patent and was paid to manipulate the findings... therefore, his findings were retracted and he lost his license.

Additionally, a Denmark study tracked 1,029,099 children for 21 years and found aluminum-adjuvanted vaccines linked to zero extra cases of autism, asthma, or 48 other chronic conditions. Decades of real-world data underscore vaccine safety and the power of science-driven public health.
So what is the real reason?
There are two main reasons for the increase in autism diagnosis rates. The first is the broadened definition of Autism Spectrum Disorder, which means that more people are meeting this definition now than previously.
Second, there have been many widely successful public health programs that increased screening at wellness visits for children ages 18–24 months to look for signs of autism. Parents, caregivers, and community members are also more aware of the symptoms, and autism is being more accepted in the community. People are not as afraid to seek help and know where to go when they have concerns.

Do NOT let this group incite fear, spread misinformation, and do NOT let them hurt you.
I fear that people will link things to autism to make it seem worse, and it might also undo all the work that certain charities have put in to encourage people to accept and understand it.
I feel like putting the hashtag #westandwithautcraft or something like that.
As this is a very sensitive subject, please do edit this post if need be.
Amazing post!
Thank you for acknowledging the event that happened, despite your wishes not to bring stuff like this into Autcraft.
I appreciate all you do. Thank you so much for making this lovely server and community, and I hope all works out.
the more ignorance rears its ugly head, the more awareness we need to shun it back to where it wence came.
It's abysmal how we're viewed as "curable" is proof that there's people who simply don't understand medical science. As the british health minister said (who actually does his job) is to just ignore what they say and believe the actual facts.
we don't have tylenol... we have panadol :)
Imagine believing MAGATS with anything. they brand peaceful protests as riots, deny that January sixth ever happened, deny vaccines, act like autism is horrible, cut aid to places that have starving children, supply arms to people committing genocide, tariff other countries because they think it's going to make them rich (it won't, it makes people stop buying US stuff.) and breed a culture of hate in america. Glad i don't live in that burning cesspit. yall fight them off or get a taste of 1930s Germany.
Oh and they cut PBS and replaced it with a politicized propaganda channel.
Get out while you still can.
Hey Primrary,
Let’s remember that a significant majority of our player base are based in the US with no way out.
Everybody that’s needs to be is aware of what is happening but this is still a safe place for children who do not need to be reading your post, please can you amend your post to not use inflammatory or scary language.
We were clarifying our position on Autism specific claims, we do not need to bring the rest of politics into it here.
Thanks.
They said that.....?
Even if I don't hate our country's leaders, that doesn't mean I blindly agree with everything they say. Some people just....don't think before coming up with stuff. Especially if they wanna make someone look bad.
personally, as someone who's really interested in genetics, my hypothesis is that autism is at least partially genetic.
